In a goodwill message sent to the editor-in-chief of The Metro Lawyer (TML), the learned silk stated, "May I warmly congratulate the Maiduguri Branch of the NBA on the inauguration of a new Executive Committee to pilot the affairs of the Branch for the next two years. I also congratulate the members of the Executive, ably led by A.M. Ummate ESQ., on successfully holding their maiden meeting as EXCO.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Welfare Committee, Y.C. Maikyau, SAN has congratulated the newly elected Executive Committee of the NBA Maiduguri Branch.

“The successful handover of leadership from one administration to the next is the very hallmark of democracy. It is symbolic of how leadership is a continuum – each set of leaders doing their bit and passing on the mantle to the next set, who are to build on the programs and agenda of the previous, and advance same in line with their own vision. The cycle goes on. Simple as this cycle seems, it is not to be taken for granted. It must be nurtured and delivered to the next generation and beyond.
“It is on this premise that I commend your Branch on the successful transition. I urge the new leadership to justify the confidence reposed in you as elected officials by faithfully serving the entire membership, regardless of political preferences. I wish you luck as you take on the enormous responsibilities ahead.
